The Teledyne LeCroy quantumdata M41h 48G Video Analyzer/Generator for HDMI 8K Testing is a compact versatile test instrument offering entry level functional testing that can be extended through software licenses to a full compliance tester with sophisticated analysis and diagnostic capabilities. The M41h enables design and test engineers to validate their products for interoperability and reliability for the HDMI 2.1 video interface. The M41h is a flexible test instrument that can be upgraded from a functional tester for sources and sinks to a sophisticated analyzer and, if desired, can test full standards compliance, enabling developers to pre-test or self-test independently, reducing delays and costs during the product development cycle.
Fixed Rate Link (FRL) Source Analysis – Provides deep analysis test features necessary to test the development of your HDMI 2.1 TMDS or FRL-capable source device. The M41h depicts the incoming TMDS and FRL packet structures and associated elements. For FRL this includes depicting the Character Block structure and Super Block structure. All FRL packet data elements are assigned precise timestamps. Users can view the embedded TMDS (tri-byte data) capture and the image frames as well to verify their FRL packetization. Extensive searching and filtering capabilities supported.
Fixed Rate Link (FRL) Video Generation – Supports video generation of FRL streams to test FRL-capable displays at up to 8K video resolutions at lane rates up to 12Gb/s and at an aggregate link rate of 48Gb/s. Feature supports free selection of format resolution, frame rate, bit depth, colorimetry, high dynamic range, test pattern, etc.
Display Stream Compression (DSC) – Supports video generation and video analysis of FRL and DSC streams to test FRL, DSC-capable sources and displays at up to 8K video resolutions at lane rates up to 12Gb/s and at an aggregate link rate of 48Gb/s. NEW! The test patterns and formats necessary to run the DSC sink compliance tests are pre-cached for fast rendering out the video generator. These pre-cached DSC formats and images can also be used for routine functional testing. NEW! There is a new “No Video” analyzer mode that enables you quickly verify the incoming DSC timing and metadata. You can then choose to view the uncompressed video frames.
Link Training – Supports link training either as a source (video generator) or as a sink (protocol analyzer) through EDID and SCDC register transactions in accordance with the link training states defined in the HDMI 2.1 specification. Monitor Link Training transactions in the Auxiliary Channel Analyzer (ACA) utility to show SCDC reads and writes over the DDC channel.
Fixed Rate Link (FRL) Source Compliance Test – Run compliance tests on your Fixed Rate Link-capable source device. Test suite includes Protocol, Link Training, Video Encoding, Video Timing, Audio, InfoFrame, EDID, etc.
Fixed Rate Link (FRL) Sink Compliance Test – Run compliance tests on your Fixed Rate Link-capable sink device. Test suite includes Character Error Detection, Reed Solomon, Video Decoding, Video Timing, Audio, InfoFrame, EDID, etc.
Display Stream Compression (DSC) Sink Compliance Test – Run compliance tests on your Display Stream Compression (DSC)-capable sink device.
Display Stream Compression (DSC) Source Compliance Test – Run compliance tests on your Display Stream Compression (DSC)-capable source device.
Forward Error Correction – Reports the Lane Error Counts and Reed Solomon Corrections Count in the SCDC Reed Solomon Corrections Counter registers.
Enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC) Tx Functional Test – Provides emulation of an eARC Tx function over the eARC Common Mode data channel. Supports discovery and disconnnect, heartbeat, status and capabilities data structure. Supports functional testing of the differential mode by enabling users to inject audio for transmission over the eARC channel using the 990’s internal sine wave generator.
Enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC) Rx Functional Test – Provides emulation of an eARC Rx function over the eARC Common Mode data channel. Supports discovery and disconnnect, heartbeat, status and capabilities data structure. Supports functional testing of the differential mode by enabling users to monitor the incoming audio metadata and to extract the incoming audio for monitoring by an external device.
Data Portability – Data portability enables you to share capture data and compliance test results with colleagues, subject matter experts at other corporate locations and other experts for analysis. The 980 test instrument is not required to view the test results. The data can be viewed through the M41h Advanced Test Platform GUI which is free and available from the Teledyne LeCroy quantumdata website.
