M42d Video Generator

The Teledyne LeCroy quantumdata M42d Video Analyzer / Generator provides functional and support compliance testing for video, audio and protocol of DisplayPort 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4. The M42d supports legacy DisplayPort lane rates of 1.62, 2.7, 5.4, 8.1 Gb/s and the new DP 2.0 higher speed lane rates of 10.0, 13.5, & 20.0 Gb/s data rates with the new line coding—128b/132b. The protocol analyzer provides a snap shot status view and deep analysis using captures of incoming DisplayPort 2.0 streams from source devices including DSC/FEC compressed streams.

  • Equipped with both DP standard and USB-C ports for Tx and Rx function.
  • Supports testing of DP 2.0 and 1.4 sources up to 20 Gb/s lane rates at the new DP 2.0 128b/132b line coding
  • Enables viewing of the incoming DP 2.0 video stream and metadata— including DSC compressed–from a source device
  • Provides capture and decode for deep analysis of the incoming video, protocol and control packets— including Display Stream Compression (DSC)
  • Supports functional tests of displays and monitors up to 20 Gb/s lane rates with large format and test pattern library
  • Enables configuration of link training parameters to test display’s handling of various link training scenarios
  • Generates Display Stream Compression (DSC) select patterns and configure slices and video parameters
  • Enables viewing of EDID and DPCD registers of a connected DP 2.0 sink device
  • Provides monitoring of the DisplayPort Aux Channel transactions as a DP source or DP sink
  • Supports passively monitoring the Main Link and Aux Channel between a DP source & display even at 20 Gb/s lane rates
  • Will support Panel Replay and LTTPR in a future release
  • Enables viewing of the USB-C Power Delivery (PD) protocol negotiations for DP Alt Mode
  • Supports Run DP 1.4 Link Layer and DSC compliance tests on sources and sinks up to 8.1Gb/s

  • Provides audio tests using programmable LPCM sine wave audio tones
